Crane beach

Heather and I visited Crane beach this weekend. The beach is touted as New Enlgand's largest white sand beach, with over 4 miles of beach. I admit, that the beach was very pretty, however there were a few major problems. The first being the water temp was only 58F that is damn cold. Painful cold. second, it seems that late july is prime breeding season for a species of biting fly that lives at crane beach. Heather and I still have welts on our legs. And finally, they charged us $20 to enter the beach! All in all a miserable time. However, we did stop in Newburyport on the way back and saw a beagle riding on a boat wearing a life jacket. Very cool. I will have to get kirby on a boat.
