Roof top garden

Heather and I have started a 'rooftop' herb garden outside of our living room window. Currently growing: basil, mint, chives, taragon, rosemary, thyme, parsley, jalepenos and tomatoes. The most recent additions are the jalepenos and tomatoes. The tomato plant already has some flowers and its first baby tomatolet! Unfortunately, the jalepeno plant is struggling at the moment, most likely because it got squashed by the tomato plant during transportation.

The plants look very healthy. Good job. I can't believe you already have a baby tomato in Boston. We just got a nice red ripe tomato from our plants growing in the south - 4 plants, one ripe tomato and several green ones. Don't worry about the jalapeno - it's supposed to be quite hardy. If it doesn't live, let me know and I'll UPS some jalapenos fresh from the grocery store to you!

I had to update this entry with a picture of the tomatolet so you would believe me! The jalepenos seem to be coming along but they don't seem to want to grow vertically, but rather horizontally. I think some planting stakes are in order.
